Position: Full-Time Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
Role Overview:
We're seeking a passionate and experienced Pediatric NP or PA to join our team as a "Full-Time Urgent Care Superstar." You'll be a primary provider during our daytime and evening hours, responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of pediatric urgent care conditions. You'll be a key player in ensuring our young patients receive timely and compassionate care when they need it most.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive pediatric urgent care services to patients from newborns to adolescents.
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and obtain detailed medical histories.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory and radiographic studies.
- Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans, including prescribing medications.
- Perform minor procedures, such as wound care, foreign body removal, and splinting.
- Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment, and preventative care.
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records in our electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Collaborate effectively with our team of nurses, medical assistants, and support staff.
- Maintain a calm and reassuring demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
- Be able to work independently, and also within a team.
- Spanish speaking is highly encouraged.
Qualifications:
- Valid NP or PA license in the state of Virginia.
- Board certification in Pediatrics or Family Medicine (with significant pediatric experience).
- Minimum 1 years of experience in pediatric urgent care or emergency medicine preferred.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of pediatric medicine.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to manage a high volume of patients in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR).
- BLS and PALS certifications.
- A positive attitude, and a desire to be part of a vibrant team.
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
Schedule:
- Weekday hours: 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM
- Weekend hours: 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM
- Full-time position.
