The High Consequence Missions (HCM) business area is seeking a Technical Solutions Intern for the summer of 2025, in the Dulles, Virginia area. Candidates must be professional, self-starters, possess a positive attitude, and work well within a diverse business environment providing technical solutions and services to meet challenging requirements. The right candidate will have a desire for a wide range of projects supporting internal research and development, assist in identifying areas of opportunity where implementation of artificial intelligence (AI), automation or machine learning would be beneficial and effective to the business. This internship will give you hands-on experience in data analytics, machine learning, and the practical applications of generative AI models.
This position is onsite.

Key Responsibilities
- Work across the HCM organization to identify business challenges and find opportunities where AI can add value
- Perform research on some of the latest emerging technologies (AI, automation, machine learning) to see where HCM could apply and benefit from implementation
- Work closely with our engineering teams to analyze, interpret, and optimize generative AI applications using industry-leading tools and platforms
- Assist in creating presenting and documenting technical solutions
- Support multidisciplinary engineering and senior program managers activities on various projects in developing, testing, and deploying generative AI models for data analytics and insights generation
- Direct support to daily business solutions activities
- Create or improve customer or capability focused presentations
- General market research to improve company effectiveness
- Collaborate with team members to understand and implement project requirements
- Gain practical, hands-on experience working with leading AI and data analytics tools used in industry
- Learn from experienced data scientists and engineers
- Work on meaningful projects that contribute to the company's success by developing AI-driven solutions
- Exposure to real-world projects that combine advanced analytics with generative AI
- Currently enrolled in a degree program related to Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM), Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, AI, Data Science, or a related field
- GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 grade scale
- Good written and oral communication skills and ability to work independently and on a team
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and collaboration skills with a strong attention to detail
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Working knowledge and understanding of artificial intelligence, machine learning concepts, and their business applications
- Working knowledge of data systems and data languages (Python)
- Working knowledge of Google Chirp, Recognizer, to incorporate voice and speak recognition data into our analytics
- Working knowledge using AWS Bedrock and CodeGuru for model building, refining, and code optimization
- Knowledge applying Augmented AI (A2I) solutions for enhanced modeling
- Working knowledge using Python, Jupyter Notebooks for data analysis, visualization and model tracking
- Knowledge using Anaconda
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and willing/able to obtain a U.S. government issued security clearance
