What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler, Repair Center position at Nihon Kohden?
The Material Handler, Repair Center is responsible for performing warehouse functions including processing, checking, verifying, and inventorying packages and shipments received. Material Handler stores items or disburses and ships as necessary. Updates related computer records, documents, and files. Proficient in multiple Material Handling functions that include Receiving, Shipping, Decontamination and Inventory Management with minimal supervision.
Essential Functions and Main Duties
- Process materials received.
- Decontaminate incoming equipment.
- Identify, track and resolve inventory and shipping errors, problems or delays.
- Check, verify and tag materials.
- Check receipts for proper quantities and item numbers.

- Enter receiving information onto the computer and forward necessary information to area personnel.
- Conduct Cycle Count Inventories of materials and finished goods. Ensures that all goods are appropriately packaged and labeled before storage.
- Move materials and finished goods to production or storage areas. Restocks shelves as needed.
- Process receiving activities related to warranty repair RMA's and Customer Owned Equipment.
- Process receiving activities related to Repair/Rework suppliers.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
- Duties may be modified or assigned at any time based on business need.
Qualifications
Education / Certification / Experience Required
- 4 years of experience in warehouse, inventory management and logistics
- Shipping and receiving experience preferred
- Level and compensation depend on location, experience, education and skills
Competencies Required
- Basic knowledge of purchasing and inventory procedures and policies
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures and standards.
- Understanding of related computer applications
- Attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing, and to receive and understand verbal and written instructions in English
- Able to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment
Compensation
The anticipated range for this position is $20.00/hr to $27.00/hr. Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, experience and location.

Working Conditions
Schedule: The regular hours for this full-time position are between 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday, unless otherwise stated by the department manager. Holiday, weekend, and evening work hours may be required. Regular hours may vary due to the needs of the organization or department and are subject to change at any time at the Company's discretion.
Physical: Generally may require some reaching, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying up to 50 pounds, finger dexterity, repetitive motions, standing, walking, sitting, hearing, visual acuity, color vision, and 2-way written/verbal communication in English. More specific details may be provided as needed or requested.
