Nike, Inc., Beaverton, OR. Plan and execute materials designs. Collaborate with design, product marketing, development and material consultants to focus color solutions for market success. Review all samples to achieve marketable solution with design, marketing and development. Clearly communicate all changes for final confirmation. Display advanced knowledge and practice in all phases of product execution. Maintain materials calendar, timelines, and deadlines for category and division resulting in the timely completion of each product. Develop line art, color design server, merchandising line, cutting samples, and work with material consultant to coordinate materials for products. Finalize product details and proactively follow through on execution of materials on each product. Create innovative materials solutions for category or gender specific line. Research and deliver materials, design, market and lifestyle trends that influence and impact the product category from product briefing to product concept to samples. Explore options and propose with materials design managers a seasonal materials strategy for products, line segments and initiatives. Create seasonal category specific direction of color, materials, and graphics. Display in-depth understanding of consumer, brand positioning needs as it relates to category and division. Apply insights from consumer perspective into materials solutions. Undertake projects and opportunities to enhance knowledge of the business, materials, and design.

Applicant must have a Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Arts or Product Design and 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a fashion-related occupation. Experience must include:
  • Materials Vendor Landscaping;
  • Innovation Ideation;
  • Supplier Lifecycle Management;
  • Product Creation (Design/Manufacturing);
  • Innovation Costing;
  • Commodity Market Forecasting;
  • Material Cost Breakdown Creation; and
  • Design & Implementation of Market Baskets.
