What are the responsibilities and job description for the Truck Technical Service Technician position at Nikola Corporation?
As a Technical Service Representative, you will monitor Nikola vehicles in real time utilizing internal web services, as well as guide service network technicians through repairs, maximizing uptime and reducing operational costs for our clients. This will consist of active communication with service network technicians through online systems and working with our internal product specialists.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Effectively monitor and engage in case management ensuring work progresses in a systematic and timely process.
- Provide supplemental diagnostic steps to service network technicians requesting assistance using the Nikola Pulse platform.
- Maintain accurate vehicle repair status’ on field units, expediting repairs whenever possible.
- Escalate complex issues to cross-functional groups for additional support when required.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with internal and external service network personnel.
- Facilitate the escalation of component failures or symptomatic concerns with cross functional engineering teams to drive product improvement.
- Analyze telematic data from vehicles to determine component or software repair strategies.
- Provide supplemental diagnostic steps to service network technicians requesting assistance using a Technical Case File system.
- Investigate technical issues that are affecting truck uptime.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills:
- Extensive knowledge on Class 8 truck functions, diagnostics, and measurement/detection equipment, and maintenance
- Experience in reading electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical documents.
- Understanding of Electric Vehicle and Fuel Cell operation and components with eagerness to expand knowledge in these technologies.
- Direct experience with Electric Vehicle systems and CAN analysis.
- Strong verbal and written technical subject communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills sufficient to communicate verbally and in writing with others objectively and cooperatively.
- Daily responsibilities will dictate the representative is self-motivated and detail oriented. The expectation is for the individual to take the initiative to manage their duties.
The Nikola Pulse Uptime Center operates 24/7. This position will require working nights or weekends and being on call rotationally.
Candidates must have current U.S. work authorization or be TN eligible from Mexico or Canada. This position is not eligible for CPT or OPT.
