Summary of Position
Niles Shared Services is looking for a Project Analyst to build out a core finance function. Reporting to the VP of Finance, this position will be responsible for maintaining and analyzing project costs and status, as well as analyzing business activity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain and analyze job costs, percentage completed, and Work in Process (WIP) schedules to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
- Monitor and evaluate business financial results, key performance indicators (KPIs), and objectives and key results (OKRs).
- Participate in annual budgeting and monthly forecasting.
- Analyze operational results relative to budget assumptions and recent trends.
- Analyze the profitability of projects, regions, and segments.
- Develop financial models to evaluate business opportunities or results.
- Evaluate ideas and situations intuitively and instinctively to provide valuable insights.
- Provide encouragement and assistance to team members to ensure project success.
- Push projects or tasks to completion, ensuring results are achieved.
- Contribute to continuous process improvement; always looking for opportunities to streamline and eliminate redundancies.
- Perform special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years’ experience in a financial or project analysis role. Will also consider Project Accounting experience.
- BS/BA in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Experience in construction or manufacturing industries, with a strong understanding of actual cost, Work in Process (WIP) and % completed accounting.
- Proficiency in maintaining and analyzing job costs, percentage completed, and WIP schedules.
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Excel, Power BI, SQL, and other analytical tools.
- Demonstrated ability to monitor and evaluate business financial results, key performance indicators (KPIs), and objectives and key results (OKRs).
- Excellent analytical abilities and problem-solving skills, particularly in data mining and analytics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated with high personal responsibility and integrity.
- Collaborative, team-oriented individual willing to assist wherever needed to ensure the group provides accurate and timely financial information.
- Natural ability to evaluate and discern ideas and situations effectively.
- Proven track record of providing support and encouragement to team members.
- Demonstrated persistence in driving projects to completion and achieving results.
