REPORTS TO : Director of Social Studies
POSITION OBJECTIVE : The job of Secretary, Literacy Center is done for the purpose / s of
providing support to the instructional program with specific responsibilities for clerical support,
day to day management, floor supervision and various informational databases of The Literacy
Center; creating and maintaining databases and associated records pertaining to student walk-in
traffic, scheduled appointments and at certain times of the year, the scheduling of interviewing
and training of student tutors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Targeted, job related education with study in a job-related area.
REQUIRED SKILLS :
- Operate standard office equipment
- Prepare and maintain accurate records
- Use pertinent software applications
- Perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and ratios
- Read and interpret a variety of manuals
- Write documents following prescribed formats

- Proficient in computer and Internet operations
- Familiarity with office application software
- Understanding of board policy, district, state, and federal regulations / laws
