Poised for substantial growth in 2025 Nimbl is now expanding to the eastern United States and looking for a highly skilled, hands-on, and motivated Warehouse Operations Manager with expertise in third-party logistics (3PL) strategic to oversee and optimize the day-to-day operations of our warehouse facilities.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing warehouse operations in a 3PL environment, with an emphasis on improving efficiency, ensuring accurate inventory management, and delivering exceptional service to clients. The 3PL business is a “sky is the limit” industry that continues to see massive growth as brick-and-mortar businesses continue to transition to a direct-to-consumer model.
In this role, the Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the distribution center, including warehouse operations, staff management, 3PL client relations, cost management, safety and compliance. The position has direct leadership accountability for their staff and strives to build effective teams through planning, organizing, and directing all warehouse activities. The Warehouse Operations Manager assists the Director of Operations in establishing warehouse performance objectives and is accountable for achieving these objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Warehouse Operations Management: Oversee the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring that all processes such as receiving, storage, order fulfillment, picking, packing, and shipping are executed efficiently and accurately.
- 3PL Client Relations: Collaborate with the Director of Operations and Key Account Managers to ensure that all client requirements, service levels, and expectations are met. Address any customer complaints or service issues promptly, with a focus on providing top-tier customer service.
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory control processes, ensuring accuracy in tracking inventory levels, monitoring stock movements, and ensuring the proper management of goods in accordance with the client’s specifications and requirements.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes and workflows, reducing operational costs, increasing productivity, and enhancing overall operational efficiency. Lead continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, Six Sigma, or other relevant methodologies.
- Staff Management: Supervise, mentor, and train warehouse staff. This includes managing shift schedules, delegating tasks, conducting performance reviews, and ensuring staff compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
- Technology & Systems Integration: Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant technology platforms to monitor and report on warehouse activities. Ensure the systems are functioning optimally and provide insight into performance and key metrics.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure the warehouse operates in compliance with all health and safety regulations, company policies, and legal requirements. Conduct regular safety audits and train staff on safety protocols.
- KPI & Reporting: Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, order cycle time, labor efficiency, inventory turnover, and shipping performance. Provide regular reports and insights to senior management and clients.
- Cost Management: Develop and manage the warehouse budget, identifying opportunities to reduce costs and improve profitability. Work with clients to streamline processes, improve supply chain efficiency, and achieve cost-saving goals.
- Collaboration with Other Departments: Work closely with the transportation, procurement, and sales teams to ensure smooth integration of operations, aligning with overall business goals and customer needs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse management, with at least 2 years of specific experience in 3PL operations.
- Strong understanding of 3PL processes, including order fulfillment, inventory management, and client relationships.
- Proven experience in managing a team, providing leadership, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Expertise with warehouse management systems (WMS) and other logistics software.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a customer-first approach.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and industry best practices.

Salary : $85,000 - $105,000
