Responsibilities:
- Inspect projects: Check that projects are built to specifications and comply with regulations
- Maintain equipment: Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
- Perform repairs: Repair and restore service to appliances, such as meter set assemblies
- Test materials: Perform quality control tests on materials like concrete and asphalt
- Document progress: Keep records of project activities, materials used, and test results
- Communicate with others: Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and other professionals to resolve issues
- Assist with design: Interpret design prints and explain them to the crew
- Ensure safety: Comply with safety regulations and ensure that everyone on the job site is working safely
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required
- 5 years of experience in the construction industry
- Proficiency with construction tools and machinery
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
- Basic understanding of building codes and safety regulations
- Ability to perform technical tests
- Ability to communicate project progress well with others
- Willing and capable of traveling throughout the country to different site locations
