Job Summary
We seek a detail-oriented and compassionate Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional patient service while managing front desk operations. This role requires strong organizational skills and a solid understanding of medical office procedures, including insurance verification and multiple physician patient scheduling.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with the check-in process.
- Schedule appointments and manage the daily calendar for healthcare providers.
- Verify patient insurance information and handle insurance claims, including Medicare.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with medical coding using ICD-10 standards as needed.
- Handle incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and relay messages to appropriate staff members.
- Support office management tasks, including maintaining inventory of office supplies.
- Coordinate with dental office staff when necessary to facilitate patient care.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical coding, particularly ICD-10, is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of patient service protocols and insurance verification processes.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in office management tasks and front desk operations.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
