Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Roofing Estimator to join our team. This individual will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates for commercial roofing projects, working closely with our sales and project management teams to ensure competitive and profitable bids. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in roofing, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Assessment: Conduct thorough site inspections and analyze project scope to determine accurate costs for labor, materials, and equipment.
- Estimating: Prepare detailed and competitive bids for commercial roofing projects, including new installations, repairs, and maintenance contracts.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including proposals, schedules, and budgets.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimates.
- Cost Management: Develop cost-effective strategies and solutions to meet client needs and improve project profitability.
- Compliance: Ensure all estimates comply with industry regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commercial roofing estimation.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with various commercial roofing systems (e.g., TPO, EPDM, metal, modified bitumen).
- Technical Skills: Proficient in estimating software (such as Bluebeam, ProEst, or The Edge) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Analytical Skills: Strong math and analytical skills to ensure accuracy in cost estimation.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients and team members.
- Detail-Oriented: High attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Construction Management or a related field is a plus.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform on-site assessments, including rooftop inspections, and occasional travel as required.
