Overview:
A well-established and reputable roofing contractor based in Spokane, Washington, is seeking a skilled Commercial Roofing Project Manager. In this key role, you’ll oversee construction projects from start to finish, manage field personnel, and ensure that projects align with the company’s core values of honesty, safety, quality, and teamwork.
Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Monitoring: Develop and deliver detailed project plans to the team to ensure successful outcomes related to safety, quality, cost, delivery, and environmental impact. Regularly monitor projects to stay aligned with the plan and report performance to department heads.
- Goal Setting: Establish and achieve daily, actionable goals for each foreman, providing consistent project updates to department heads.
- Coordination & Communication: Collaborate with estimators to review essential project details, including contracts, budgets, timelines, and requirements. Ensure clear communication with Construction Managers and foremen for seamless project execution.
- Job Oversight: Supervise multiple roofing projects, approve time cards, verify production against costs, track progress, issue change orders, and handle material orders.
- On-Site Leadership: Visit job sites 1-2 times per week to meet with Construction Managers and foremen, addressing any project needs. Attend key project milestones (e.g., hand-offs, 50% and 100% completion) to ensure quality and continuity.
- Safety & Quality Control: Enforce safety and quality standards daily on-site. Provide ongoing support to Construction Managers and foremen to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
- Administrative Tasks: Maintain accurate project documentation and deliver regular reports to department heads. Send daily task updates to ensure team alignment.
- Pre-Project Site Visits: Conduct site assessments before each project begins to ensure all preparations meet company standards.
Qualifications:
- Project Management: Proven experience managing 4-5 multi-million-dollar commercial roofing projects simultaneously.
- Roofing Expertise: Hands-on experience with torch-down roofing, cold sealant applications, and modified bitumen systems.
- Experience: At least 5 years in commercial roofing, with a deep understanding of roofing systems, materials, and installation methods.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of commercial construction processes, including site development, demolition, and remodels. Ability to read and interpret roofing plans and specifications.
- Skills: Proficient in project estimation, cost tracking, and managing large-scale commercial roofing projects. Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- License: Valid driver’s license required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry between 15 and 50 pounds regularly, and up to 150 pounds occasionally.
- Capable of working on ladders up to 40 feet and handling roofing tasks, including tar pots, torches, and wheelbarrows.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, dust, dirt, fumes, and noise.
