We are currently seeking a skilled Commercial Roofing Service Technician to join our growing team in Birmingham, AL.
Position Overview:
As a Commercial Roofing Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing service and maintenance on commercial roofs, including troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in commercial roofing systems, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform roof inspections and assessments to identify any issues or potential risks.
- Complete roofing repairs and maintenance on commercial buildings, ensuring work is done efficiently and to high standards.
- Troubleshoot and repair various roofing systems, including flat, sloped, and metal roofs.
- Provide preventative maintenance services to extend the lifespan of roofing systems.
- Install new roofing systems and components as needed, following safety guidelines and industry best practices.
- Ensure all service work complies with local building codes and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of all service and repair work completed, including materials used and time spent.
- Work closely with the project management team to ensure smooth execution of projects.
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide high-quality customer service.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety protocols.
- Assist in the training and development of junior technicians when needed.
Skills & Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in commercial roofing or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of various roofing systems (e.g., TPO, EPDM, PVC, metal, etc.).
- Ability to perform roof inspections, repairs, and maintenance effectively.
- Proficient with roofing tools and equipment, including safety gear.
- Knowledge of safety practices and OSHA regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret roofing plans, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work at heights (up to 50 lbs).
