Job Description
We are looking for a Junior Steel Detailer to assist with creating detailed drawings and models of steel structures for construction projects. As a Junior Steel Detailer, you will work closely with senior detailers, engineers, and project managers to ensure that all project specifications and quality standards are met. You will be involved in preparing detailed shop drawings and assisting in the design and fabrication process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and create detailed 2D and 3D shop drawings for steel structures based on architectural and engineering designs.
- Collaborate with project managers and senior detailers to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
- Review and interpret construction blueprints, plans, and models to develop steel detailing drawings.
- Assist in the preparation of bill of materials and other necessary project documents.
- Support the fabrication and construction teams with accurate detailing and modifications when required.
- Maintain project files and ensure proper documentation and record-keeping.
- Participate in team meetings and provide feedback on project progress and any potential challenges.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred) or relevant experience in steel detailing.
- Familiarity with steel detailing software (AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, or similar).
- Knowledge of steel fabrication processes and construction methods.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret engineering and architectural drawings.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Basic knowledge of industry codes and standards (e.g., AISC, AWS).
