Security/Fire Technician (commercial)

We are currently seeking an experienced Security/Fire Technician (Commercial) to join our team in Akron, OH.

Job Description:
You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of both security and fire protection systems in commercial environments. This role requires a highly skilled technician with expertise in the integration and servicing of commercial-grade security and fire alarm systems to ensure the highest levels of safety and protection for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and service commercial security systems (CCTV, access control, alarms) and fire protection systems (fire alarms, smoke detectors, sprinkler systems) in commercial buildings.
• Troubleshoot and repair security and fire alarm systems in commercial settings to ensure full functionality.
• Perform inspections and preventative maintenance on security and fire protection equipment to ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
• Ensure that all security and fire systems are fully integrated, operating seamlessly, and meeting the specific needs of each commercial client.
• Provide recommendations for system upgrades and improvements based on the latest security and fire protection technologies.
• Offer on-site training and guidance to commercial clients on the use and maintenance of their security and fire systems.
• Stay up-to-date with local regulations, codes, and industry trends related to commercial security and fire protection.
• Ensure all work complies with NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) standards and local fire codes.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns, answering questions, and ensuring satisfaction.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Security and Fire Technician with a strong background in commercial systems (security and fire protection).
• In-depth knowledge of commercial security (CCTV, alarms, access control) and fire protection systems (fire alarms, sprinklers, smoke detectors).
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair commercial-grade security and fire alarm systems.
• Strong understanding of local building codes, fire regulations, and industry standards related to security and fire protection.
• Experience with system integration, wiring, and network configurations in commercial environments.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks or projects.
• Certifications (NICET, PSA, or equivalent) in security and/or fire protection systems are a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
