We are currently seeking an experienced Superintendent (Commercial Ground-Up Construction)to lead our commercial ground-up construction projects in Washington, DC.
Position Overview:
You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the construction site, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. You will manage and coordinate day-to-day site operations while ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise the daily operations of commercial ground-up construction projects from start to finish.
- Coordinate and manage on-site construction activities, including subcontractors, vendors, and labor.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, building codes, and project specifications.
- Develop and implement project schedules, monitor progress, and resolve issues that may arise on-site.
- Communicate regularly with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to provide updates and resolve any concerns.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to project timelines.
- Enforce strict safety measures on-site, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Manage project documentation, including daily reports, change orders, and RFIs (Requests for Information).
- Monitor project budgets and track project expenses to ensure costs are controlled.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the construction team, fostering collaboration and problem-solving.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Superintendent in commercial ground-up construction projects.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, including scheduling, budgeting, and site management.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a focus on building effective teams.
- Expertise in managing commercial construction projects, including large-scale, ground-up builds.
- Solid understanding of construction safety protocols, industry standards, and local building codes.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of managing relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
- Proficient in construction management software (Procore, Buildertrend, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- OSHA 30 certification or equivalent construction safety training is highly preferred.
