Nintendo Software Technology is a tight-knit game development studio located in Redmond, WA. As part of the Nintendo family, we're passionate about creating games designed to surprise and delight our customers. We're always on the lookout for exceptional artist to help support our Art Department.
As a Character Artist II, you will have proven Substance Painter experience and a deep passion for creating stylized work. You’ll have a portfolio reflecting a variety of 3D character models, and textures and a history of working with art leadership to help visualize and develop visual targets. - Creates a variety of 3D character content that meets required direction and quality specifications.
- Creates 3D models, and textures for characters.
- Creates animations for characters or other assets.
- Works with art leadership to help visualize and develop visual targets.
- Supports the growth of new or enhanced art development tools and techniques.
- Utilizes and maintains proficient knowledge of required commercial and Nintendo proprietary art production tools.
- 3 or more years of professional experience having shipped at least 1 game.
- Proven artistic and technical skills in 3D art production.
- Experienced with game development pipelines and game engines (E.g. Unreal, Unity or a proprietary engine)
- Proven proficiency with commercial art production software (E.g. Photoshop, Maya, Houdini, Zbrush, Substance Painter, etc.)
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to solve semi-complex problems in effective ways.
- Can respond to feedback and iterations quickly and efficiently.
- Undergraduate degree in art or related field; or equivalent education and experience.
This contract position has a base pay range of $35.00 - $53.00 per hour and is eligible for benefits through the employing agency. Agency benefits may include medical, dental and vision, 401(k), basic/supplemental life and AD&D insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, health and dependent care spending accounts, transportation benefits, employee assistance program, paid sick leave, and up to 6 paid holidays per year. All benefits are subject to elections, eligibility requirements, plan and program terms.
