What are the responsibilities and job description for the Independent Certified Welding Inspector (AWS/CWI) position at Ninyo & Moore?
Job Description: Ninyo & Moore Geotechnical & Environmental Sciences Consultants has a 3 month opportunity approximately May-July or August, 2025 for an independent Inspector AWS-CWI certified in Salt Lake City, Utah to work as an independent contractor. The successful candidate will be thoroughly knowledgeable regarding the standards related to the construction and inspection of structural steel welding and bolting. The candidate must be able to read and understand structural blue prints and current code requirements. Field duties will include shop and field inspection of structural steel welds, bolting, and testing.
Education: Associates or Bachelors degree preferred. Current AWS/CWI certifications required.
Required Skills: The successful candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, 3 years of experience working in the construction quality industry, positive attitude, good organizational skills and a strong work ethic. Candidate may be subject to a background check and drug screening test. Must have current valid driver's license and a good driving record.
Status: On Call; Independent inspectors must be licensed and insured; May-July or August, depending on project duration
