What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Environmental Engineer/Geologist/Scientist position at Ninyo & Moore?
Job Description: Ninyo & Moore has an immediate opening in our Alameda, West Sacramento, or San Jose, California office for a Staff or Senior Staff-Level Environmental Professional to assist with the following tasks:
- conducting various field tasks comprised of site reconnaissance, soil and groundwater sampling, borehole logging, well installation, air monitoring, coordination and oversight of subcontractor,
- preparing daily field reports;
- various office tasks comprised of data compilation, review and assimilation of historic information and environmental databases,
- assisting with report preparation and other project documents,
- phone/email contact/coordination with subcontractors/vendors,
- phone/email contact related to interviews and discussions with site owner/users, and
- management of tasks and task budgets.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
Certification: Current OSHA HAZWOPER training. Other certifications and registrations a plus.
Required Skills: The successful candidate should have 2 years of experience with Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments and other site investigations commensurate with years of experience. 2 years' experience in the above listed tasks. Experience on construction sites a plus. Candidate must have solid base writing skills, effective inter-communication skills, familiarity with ASTM E1527-21 and ASTM E-1903-11, and ability to work with a support teams as well as ability to work independently when required. Also must have a proficiency with Word and Excel. Prior work history with a consulting firm preferred.
