How you make an impact…
This position will manage capabilities focusing on radiation control and NRC compliance which are owned by the nuclear team at Niowave ensuring operational excellence and delivery of high-quality cGMP radioisotopes. The Rad Con Supervisor will lead a team of radiation technicians focused on radiation control, NRC compliance, facility operations, waste management, and support of radioisotope R&D and production teams across multiple facilities.
What you need to succeed…

- Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineer, Health Physics, or related scientific field
- 5 years’ experience operating in a radiological facility licensed by NRC (or DOE).
- At least 3 years’ experience supervising day to day activities of other team members, providing mentoring, and career development coaching
- Understands how to integrate into a new team/organization – appreciates the history of current state, know how and when to make suggestions, as well as using just the right pace to reach the improved future state.
- Understands your own communication and learning styles, can assess others’ styles, and is able to find the right path to connect the two.
Great to have…
- Masters degree in Nuclear Engineering, Health Physics, or related technical field
- 8 years’ experience operating in a radiological facility licensed by NRC (or DOE).
- 5 years’ experience supervising day to day activities of other team members, providing mentoring, and career development coaching.
- Experience with production, cGMP, radioisotopes, and/or radiopharmaceuticals.
- Experience with nuclear detection equipment, solid liquid and gaseous forms of radioactive material, and NRC regulations is an asset.
Other things to know…
- Full-time position.
- Niowave’s standard operating hours are Monday thru Friday 6a – 6p with production related activities requiring 24/7/365 shifts. This position will have regular hours that includes shift work on nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Niowave has multiple locations within the Lansing area. Travel between locations is expected in the role.
