What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litigation Specialist (Fully Remote) position at NIP Group, Inc.?
- Manage pending of 125-150 files, many litigated, across multiple lines of business (LOBs).
- Effectively present large and/or complex losses to claim team and senior management as needed.
- Effectively manage defense counsel to ensure compliance with litigation guidelines.
- Provide excellent customer service both to internal and external customers
- Participate in settlement negotiations with plaintiff attorneys within assigned authority levels, direct further action regarding litigation, settlements or appeals; and direct the use of surveillance, outside expert opinions and physical examinations.
- Establish and communicate current claims reports to underwriter and management that help recognize and analyze client and program trends/performance
- Assist management in the analysis of claims to prevent future similar occurrences, with periodic reports on recommendations to assist in the reduction of claims
- Attend client meetings as warranted and report on any proposed liability claims settlements and developments.
- Ensure accurate reserves on all files under management
- Have plan of action at all times for driving files toward closure
- Be current on claim diaries at all times
- Be current on electronic mail and respond to all internal and external customers within 24 hours
- Meet all KPI (Key Performance Indicators) benchmarks as set forth the in goals, e.g., timely reserves, 60-day file touches, timely insured contact, timely reserve reviews, etc.
- Versatility a must: experience handling both Property and Liability claims strongly preferred.
- Exemplary planning, organizational and time management skills. In short, you must excel at juggling multiple tasks/timelines, and being able to handle claims across multiple LOBs, all while providing excellent customer service both to internal and external customers.
- Unsurpassed verbal and written communication skills. Every job description lists these two attributes, we really mean it. You will be asked to provide a writing sample.
- You genuinely care about the quality of your work, and strive daily to generate the best product and results.
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience. Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in handling claims.
- Carrier experience strongly preferred
- Advanced knowledge of the state legal systems and applicable statutes
- Ability to make sound decisions, sometimes with limited information
- Ability to work as a team player and effectively communicate with peers, team members and management
- High level of thoroughness and accuracy.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Teams, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
