Operations Maintenance Coordinator (OMC) Fiberline
The Operations Maintenance Coordinator (OMC) provides continuity between Operations and Maintenance and drives adherence to the Maintenance Work Control (MWC)Process.
- The Operations Maintenance Coordinator will provide guidance on properly using the MWC Prioritization Matrix and adherence to the scheduled work plan.
- Collaborates with the Process Owner(s) and Maintenance Supervisors to develop a 3-week schedule accounting for work order required end dates.
- Responsible for the development of rough 3-week schedules prior to the Commitment Meeting
- Responsible for communicating schedule changes to Operations stakeholders.
- Work with other OMCs to integrate mill maintenance activities and the support services necessary to deliver an executable mill-wide schedule that is safe, timely and cost effective.

Principal Job Responsibilities/Duties
Coordinate quarterly machine outages, lead machine and area optimization projects. Audit and develop efficient Energy Control Procedure (ECPs) for areas. Develops the capability of operating teams to achieve business results (safety, reliability, cost, quality) and satisfy customer requirements. Provides team and individual feedback, coaching and discipline. Assesses and coordinates development of skills. Supports facilitation of team and safety meetings. Ensures team members understand and meet customer expectations. Facilitates resolution of team member conflicts. Promotes development and compliance with safe work practices. Coordinates day-to-day activities. Jointly prioritizes shift maintenance work. Communicates core process/operator needs to the appropriate management/support functions. Drive creation of and manage the department training process. Perform gap analysis of the departments standard operating procedures (SOPs) and troubleshooting guides (TCCs) and drive the process to close the gaps. Assists operators in troubleshooting upset conditions. Performs administrative duties, such as filling on-shift vacancies and maintaining accurate payroll records. Provide relief as appropriate. Work schedule will be days with some rotating shift.
Experience/Competencies Required
- BS degree in a technical field or equivalent work and leadership experience
- 5 years of manufacturing process improvements.
- Ability to learn safe and efficient operations.
- Very strong leadership, coaching, interpersonal, and team problem solving skills
- Highly safety conscious and willing to work rotating shifts.
- Competent if Microsoft applications
About Nippon Dynawave Packaging in Longview, WA:
The Longview Liquid Packaging facility produces bleached paperboard used to make cartons and cups for liquids such as milk, juice, coffee, and sake. The facility employs about 500 people and produces 260,000 metric tons of paperboard each year -- the equivalent of 6 billion liter-sized milk cartons. Weyerhaeuser launched the Longview Liquid Packaging business in 1953 and operated the facility until its acquisition by Nippon Paper Industries (NPI).
The facility began a new era under NPI ownership on September 1, 2016, operating as Nippon Dynawave Packaging.
