Purpose

Perform the safe and efficient transportation of product to customers and timely reporting of shortages, overages, and damages.

Responsibilities

• Transport and deliver goods in accordance with the schedule as determined by the Dispatcher
• Unload or load using proper safety precautions
• Comply with all DOT and NEU requirements (Recordkeeping, Pre- and Post-Inspections, HOS, etc.)
• Ensure highest degree of care and safety while operating any company vehicle
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Communicate to Supervisor/Manager any areas of concern
• Salary Pay Range: $23.00 - $25.00 Hourly. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salalry range fo this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.  At NEU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.

   

Qualifications

• Under FMCSR, all Drivers must be at least 21 years of age to participate in the transportation of interstate commerce (391.11(b)(1))
• Satisfactory MVR
• Satisfactory compliance with DQF documentation
• Driver’s License Class C
• High School Diploma, equivalency certificate or significant relevant or appropriate working experience
• DOT Medical card or able to pass a DOT physical to obtain a medical card

Organization Relationships

• This position will interact with all levels of employees at the branch, including colleagues, leadership staff, and office personnel.
• Must be able to work with customers, vendors, and outside organizations

Work Environment

• Driving for long periods of time
• Standing, bending, twisting, kneeling, reaching, repetitive use of hands, grasping
• Pulling, pushing, lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Exposure to traffic, excessive noise in a fast-paced warehouse environment
• Use of equipment such as forklift and pallet jacks
