Position Summary:
The Field Technical Service Representative is responsible for line performance, quality trend tracking, technical troubleshooting, reporting, inventory management, line trial support, new model color program management, and customer complaint assistance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop strong relationships with key customer contacts.
- Coordinate day-to-day operations and projects with the customer base and internal personnel.
- Monitor and track online performance and incoming quality for processing, color, and appearance criteria.
- Communicate problems, issues, and improvement opportunities to the Paint Design Team, QA, Color Lab, and Production personnel.
- Obtain build data, inventory, and usage information to communicate with Account Managers and Supply Demand Planning representatives for effective inventory management.
- Solve pricing, credit, debit, and RGA issues with customers and Sales teams.
- Implement and track value-added activities at the customer that improve the paint production process.
- Analyze paint and process problems using formal problem-solving skills to determine root cause and implement preventative actions.
- Generate reports, data, presentations, and documentation on projects and issues pertinent to the account in a timely manner.
- Coordinate technical service needs of customers.
- Recommend process changes for product performance improvement.
- Coordinate sample submissions and production trials.
- Participate in facility CIA programs.
- Assist in developing customer application line correlation and formula verification.
- Communicate color adjustments completed on batches and samples to site reps and Lansing personnel.
- Travel between accounts will be required.

Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Science or minimum of 2 years of customer-based technical experience in automotive coatings.
- Computer and software skills.
- Effective communication and report-writing skills.

- Good problem-solving skills.
- Able to work with 2-component coatings and isocyanates.
- Time management skills.
- Able to wear a respirator and necessary PPE, including being clean-shaven for respirator use.
