Production Technician
As a Cannabis Wholesale Production Technician, you will be responsible for assisting in the production and packaging of cannabis products for wholesale distribution. Working closely with the production team, you will ensure that products are manufactured efficiently, meet quality standards, and comply with regulatory requirements. Your role will involve operating machinery, conducting quality control checks, maintaining a clean work environment, and contributing to a cohesive team atmosphere.
Essential Job Duties
Production Assistance:
- Assist in the production of various cannabis products, including but not limited to dried flower, pre-rolls, concentrates, and edibles.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and production schedules to ensure timely completion of production tasks.
- Measure and mix ingredients accurately according to recipes and formulations.
- Package finished cannabis products into appropriate containers, ensuring proper labeling and compliance with packaging regulations.
- Operate packaging equipment such as scales, labelers, sealers, and filling machines safely and efficiently.
- Conduct final quality checks on packaged products to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Conduct visual inspections and quality control checks on finished products, identifying and addressing any defects or deviations from quality standards.
- Monitor production processes to maintain product quality and consistency throughout the manufacturing process.
- Document quality control data and report any issues or discrepancies to the production supervisor.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records, including tracking raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate any shortages or discrepancies to the production team.
- Assist in stock rotation, restocking, and inventory reconciliation as needed.
- Operate production equipment and machinery safely and effectively, following all safety protocols and manufacturer instructions.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and report any maintenance needs to the production supervisor.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory requirements.
- Follow sanitation protocols for equipment, work surfaces, and production areas to prevent contamination and ensure product safety.
- Adhere to all applicable cannabis regulations and compliance requirements, including proper handling and storage of cannabis products.
- Complete production and packaging logs, batch records, and other documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain detailed records of production activities, including quantities produced, batch numbers, and any deviations from SOPs.
- Ensure that all required documentation is properly filed and archived for future reference.
- Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to achieve production targets and meet customer demands.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.
- Foster a positive work environment by supporting and encouraging fellow team members and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in manufacturing, cannabis production, or related fields is a plus.
- Previous experience in cannabis production, manufacturing, or packaging preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures accurately.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
- Flexibility to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and production schedules.
- Knowledge of cannabis regulations and compliance requirements is desirable but not mandatory; willingness to learn and adhere to all applicable regulations is essential.
