Summary:
We are seeking a Function Mission Analyst - Cyber (FMA-C) to support top-priority Air Force (AF) missions by conducting comprehensive mission analysis and cybersecurity assessments. This role plays a pivotal part in identifying mission-critical cyber dependencies, assessing vulnerabilities, and developing defense strategies to ensure mission success.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Conduct FMA-C assessments on high-priority Air Force missions, identifying cyber dependencies and vulnerabilities.
- Perform detailed mission analysis, examining cyber risks and developing defense sensor strategies.
- Develop Courses of Action (COA) to enhance cybersecurity measures and mitigate threats.
- Collect, catalog, and maintain mission-related data for accuracy and security.
- Input mission data into Mission Assurance Decision Support System (MADSS) for informed decision-making.
- Track mission status, conduct cyber risk assessments, and provide mission assurance recommendations.
- Support risk management initiatives, using mission mapping to analyze cyber dependencies and strengthen security strategies.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, identifying weaknesses and recommending targeted security enhancements.
- Collaborate with Cyber Protection Teams (CPT) and Mission Defense Teams (MDT) to enhance cybersecurity defenses.
- Engage with Air Force leadership, providing expert guidance on mission assurance best practices.
- Liaise with cybersecurity professionals to coordinate defense initiatives and improve mission resilience.
- Deliver briefings and reports to senior officials, offering insights into cyber readiness and operational threats.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Expertise in Mission Assurance disciplines, including risk management, mission mapping, vulnerability assessments, and cybersecurity strategies.
- Strong understanding of Functional Mission Analysis - Cyber (FMA-C) methodologies and mission cyber dependencies.
- Ability to solve complex cybersecurity challenges across critical infrastructure and systems.
- Skilled in prioritizing critical vs. non-critical networks, ensuring effective response coordination and cybersecurity measures.
- Familiarity with MADSS and similar mission assurance database repositories.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for documentation and stakeholder interaction.
- Strong time management, prioritization, and multitasking abilities in dynamic mission environments.
- Proven relationship-building skills, collaborating effectively with Air Force personnel and cybersecurity teams.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 8 years of experience in mission analysis, information security, and Air Force mission capabilities.
- IAT Level II Certification, ensuring proficiency in cybersecurity operations.
- Active TS/SCI clearance, required for classified mission data access.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with Functional Mission Analysis - Cyber (FMA-C) methodologies.
- Expertise in Air Force Mission Design Series (MDS) and cybersecurity implementations.
- Prior engagement with Cyber Protection Teams (CPT) and Mission Defense Teams (MDT) in mission assurance roles.
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
