SUMMARY
Assist the Coordinator and/or Leader II in providing direction in the day-to-day responsibilities of the department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Regular attendance and adherence to the “NISCO Attendance Policy” including the ability and availability to work a minimum of eight (8) hours per day, forty (40) hours a week, or such other hours per day or hours per week (over-time) as determined necessary or desired to meet business needs. Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and NISCO policies and rules.
Follow “work instructions” and perform operations as identified.
Includes the following along with other duties that may also be assigned.
Able to perform and run all Production Associate equipment, duties and responsibilities
Lead department and area of responsibility
Step in when Leader II is unavailable or absent
Interprets company policies, enforces safety regulations, and recommend discipline
Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws, safety policies and rules.
Responsible for knowing SWI /Work points
Train new and current associates using the SWI/work point/step by step methods on new assignments and tracking performance
Ensure area has material and needed supplies
Complete daily paperwork correctly before end of shift ie: scrap, attainment, efficiency
Coordinate job assignments to achieve attainment expectations and meet customer demand
Direct, assign and rotate personnel in various department functions
Uses problem solving tools to analyze and resolve work problems or assists workers in solving work problems. Perform 10x’s and judge if in or out of spec in. If needed, supplying when maintenance mold tech is called.
Makes non-biased decisions regarding associates
Responsible for knowing quality requirements.
Responsible for the quality of product produced on their shift and able to take appropriate measures necessary to resolve. This starts with First piece done properly.
Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines
Acts as liaison between production associates and Coordinator.
Determines overtime needs per customer demands and cancels when not needed
Must be regularly available and willing to work at least 8 hours per day and 40 hours plus per week.
Maintain six (6) or less attendance points continuously. Subject to demotion if attendance points exceed six (6) points at any time.
Must be available and willing to work overtime per day or per week as determined necessary to meet business needs.
Responsible for conformity to product requirements and has the authority to stop production to correct quality problems.
Maintains, implements and champions 6S
Looks for continuous improvement activities.
Performs job tasks with honesty, confidentiality, and professionalism.
Working with other leaders and coordinators to assure cells are ready and set up for next shift.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Can provide department direction but this job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or G.E.D. or comparable from country of origin.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The associate frequently is required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities may require color vision depending on job assignment. For quality reasons, this position requires a sighted individual.
