About the Role
The Supported Community Living Specialist (SCLS) is a vital member of our team, responsible for providing direct care and support to individuals with unique needs. As an SCLS, you will work closely with Team Leaders and Directors to ensure the highest level of service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach and train individuals in daily living skills, including meal preparation, laundry, and personal hygiene.
- Assist individuals with health and medical needs, such as coordinating appointments and managing medications.
- Develop and maintain individualized plans to promote independence and community participation.
- Provide transportation and accompaniment to activities and appointments.
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment, adhering to all relevant regulations and guidelines.
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in teaching, training, or direct care preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Valid Iowa Chauffeur's license and acceptable driving record required.
