Essential Functions
- Copperleaf Management: Handle all activities related to Copperleaf, ensuring the tool is used effectively for risk scoring and investment management.
- Risk Scoring: Perform risk scoring for all NiSource investments, ensuring accurate and consistent evaluation across projects.
- Integrated Planning: Incorporate NiSource's integrated planning process into asset risk models to align with Capital investments.
- Investment Optimization: Utilize Copperleaf for investments to drive risk reduction per dollar spent.
- Support Asset Class Owners: Assist Asset Class Owners in maintaining consistency of their relative risk register and asset management plans.
- Regulatory Improvements: Focus on risk scoring investments and using Copperleaf to drive rate case and regulatory improvements.
- Policy and Documentation: Develop and maintain policies and documentation for Copperleaf usage, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Asset Class Owners to ensure accurate scoring and alignment with risk management strategies.
- Project Understanding: Collaborate with planning teams and engineering to gain a deep understanding of the projects making up the investments, facilitating better risk ranking.
- Investment Ranking: Analyze and rank investments from high to low risk, providing actionable insights to inform decision-making.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay current on leading industry practices for risk assessment and Copperleaf usage, implementing improvements as needed.
- Risk Assessment Procedures: Learn established Risk Assessment procedures.
- Data Analysis: Work with other analysts and leaders to load, analyze, and compile data.
- Data Collaboration: Collaborate with Data Owners and Asset Program Owner(s) on recommended changes to improve asset data availability and quality, bringing the perspective on how the change will improve risk modeling capabilities.
- Model Improvement: Collaborate with Asset Risk Analysts supporting other asset classes to understand their model improvement opportunities and to understand model outputs to consider transfer risks between asset classes.
- Industry Practices: Stay current on leading industry practices for risk assessment, including learning from other industry applications of risk modeling approaches to gain insights from more mature industries.
Asset Risk Analyst 1
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, Finance, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field plus equivalent experience
- 0-3 years Experience
- Data analysis or programming experience
- Experience building and/or using complex quantitative models
- Proven ability to work across departments collaboratively to resolve issues, drive issues to closure, achieve desired results/goals, and/or implement change as needed
- Excellent oral, written, presentation and listening communication skills
- Ability to understand and analyze tabular and geospatial data
Asset Risk Analyst 2
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, Finance, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field plus equivalent experience
- Experience building and/or using complex quantitative models
- 3-7 years of experience
- Data analysis, programming, risk analysis, utility knowledge, GIS
- Proven ability to work across departments collaboratively to resolve issues, drive issues to closure, achieve desired results/goals, and/or implement change as needed
- Excellent oral, written, presentation and listening communication skills
- Has basic knowledge of job procedures and tools obtained through work experience
- Ability to analyze tabular and geospatial data. Debug existing models and data sources. Incorporate data sources into modeling.
Sr Asset Risk Analyst
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, Finance, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field plus equivalent experience
- Job-related experience, 7 years
- Data analysis, programming, utility knowledge, GIS, integrity management, business intelligence dashboard development, strong science and mathematics background, leadership
- Experience building and/or using complex quantitative models
- Ability to analyze tabular and geospatial data. Incorporate data sources into modeling. Build and debug models from scratch. Satisfy ad-hoc data analysis requests. Obtain and model data from non-standard sources. Work across departments to support risk reduction goals.
- Has advanced knowledge of operational procedures and tools obtained through extensive work experience and may require vocational or technical education.
- Proven ability to work across departments collaboratively to resolve issues, drive issues to closure, achieve desired results/goals, and/or implement change as needed
- Excellent oral, written, presentation and listening communication skills
- Graduate degree in a job-related discipline or equivalent experience.
- Experience building and/or using probabilistic models.
