Job Summary
Assigns high risk excavation tasks to ensure safe excavation practices, public safety, and reliable operation to our pipeline. Optimizes workforce to ensure the timely response to field operations and other external customers. Key Results:
Compliance with federal and state regulations.
Compliance with company policies as they relate to the processing of work orders.
Serviceable communication with mobile workforce, field operations, system operations, NiSource screening center, call center, construction services, and all others that may apply.
Efficient distribution of workload that is efficiently prioritized to all Damage Prevention Coordinators (DPC) and other resources as needed, for the achievement goals and objectives.
Managed workforce level to ensure timely completion of all daily assignments
Exceptional customer service.
Exceptional response time to emergency calls and facility locates.
Effective data-gathering, order distribution and communication.
Results that meet or exceed operational goals.
Essential Functions
- Assigns the activities of DPC for all field work based upon Risk and manpower availability.
- Prioritizes and assigns daily risk assessments to optimize utilization of resources.
- Monitors work throughout the day, and reprioritizes and reassigns work as necessary to properly manage overtime.
- Assigns labor resources that will support the schedule.
- Coordinates the distribution of work to maximize operations effectiveness.
- Works with Leader of Damage Prevention to ensure the appropriate prioritization and routing of daily work.
- Directs and instructs personnel to respond to emergency orders and facility locates throughout Distribution Operations to ensure compliance is attained.
- Communicates with mobile workforce, field operations, system operations, NiSource screening center, call center, construction services, and all others that may apply to ensure a collaborative and effective link.
- Coordinates with others, as appropriate (including outside parties, utilities and internal resources/departments).
- Perform other resource updates, as necessary.
- Field calls from the call centers and perform the necessary follow-up for customer inquiries and complaints.
- Reschedules work (if needed) and ensures that customers are informed of the updated status.
- Addresses daily untoneable log, providing Positive Response through Ticket Management system, monitoring the "Problem Locate" Group Email Box. and ensuring communication between excavators and our local Operations to get the untoneables resolved.
Required Qualifications For Position
- High school diploma/GED
- 1 years experience in Gas Distribution Operations or equivalent work experience in GIS/Mapping.
- Basic computer skills.
- Demonstrated organizational skills.
- Good communication skills, both written and oral.
Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position
- Knowledge of Microsoft Systems (WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Associate's Degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience.
- Working knowledge of GIS and other various mapping systems
- Knowledge of Distribution Operations policies
- Utility locating experience

Salary Range:
