Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists with the operation and maintenance of distribution facilities such as main lines and services.
- Performs miscellaneous duties relative to plant operations.
- Operates line locator to locate and mark pipelines and curb boxes
- Repairs curb boxes as needed
- Performs corrosion test readings
- Performs critical valve inspections
- Performs minor maintenance on tools and equipment
- Performs general maintenance duties, such as painting, mowing and cleaning, as needed.
- Responds to various types of customer/company work requests including but not limited to: transfers, disconnects, reads/rereads, locates/repairs curb boxes, removes active and inactive meters, collects on delinquent accounts or disconnects gas service at meter or curb box.
- Duties include ability to operate one or more of the following types of construction equipment: two-ton trucks with pipe trailers or low-boy type trailers, and trucks two-ton capacity and over, ditching machines, backhoes, and back filler-tampers.
- Work includes installing or assists in the installation, repair, and replacement of distribution facilities such as mains, services, regulators, and structures.
- Must be available for overtime, emergency, and call-out work.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
- Appropriate class of state driver's license and CDL is required.
- Employee will be required to pass the Operator Qualifications requirements appropriate to the assigned duties
Required Qualifications for Position
- All positions are subject to applicable DOT Anti-Drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Plan (AMPP) regulations.
- All positions must be able to respond to emergency calls and work scheduled and non-scheduled overtime at applicable overtime rate. To serve customers' needs, it may be necessary for incumbent to work a schedule or work location other than posted on a temporary basis to provide coverage during vacations.
- All positions must be able to respond to emergency calls and work scheduled and nonscheduled overtime.
- All positions will be required to complete applicable paperwork and enter data on a computer.
- All positions require working in all weather conditions
- All applicants must have a valid and appropriate driver's license to be qualified
- All applicants must have a high school degree from an accredited school or accepted GED to be qualified
- All applicants must be able to become OQ qualified and maintain OQ qualifications.
