What are the responsibilities and job description for the Apprentice Wastewater Maintenance Technician - Nisqually Tribal Member Only position at Nisqually Indian Tribe?
NATURE OF WORK: This position is responsible for keeping plant machinery and buildings operating with maximum efficiency and minimum downtime
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze mechanical and operational problems on equipment and make necessary repairs and corrections to maintain maximum productions quality
- Move, adjust, repair and install new and existing equipment and perform scheduled maintenance on machinery
- Keep plant, equipment, and work area clean and organized
- Maintain safety standards as directed and required
- Operate Wastewater Treatment System as assigned
- Rebuild mechanical and process equipment as assigned
- Process paperwork related to work assignments
- Perform other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting
- Knowledge of machine operating
- Skill in the use of general hand tools, heat sensing devices, power tools, electronic meters, pressure testing devices, welding and air tools
- Ability to withstand extreme heat and cool
- Ability to frequently lift, stand, bend, and stoop
- Ability to descent and climb a maximum of 30 rungs to access system pump stations
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to utilize a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus requiring adequate respiratory function
- Ability to detect and differentiate
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable under the Tribe's insurance
- Must be able to work irregular hours including evenings and weekends as required
