What are the responsibilities and job description for the Brighton Creek Caretaker position at Nisqually Indian Tribe?
GENERAL SUMMARY
This position is responsible for Brighton Creek 24-acre property with a lodge, dining/kitchen, 12 cabins and 10 spot RV park. Caretaker is responsible for facility care, maintenance and access to the property and buildings. Work responsibilities include providing maintenance and security, property maintenance, assistance to the public in their use of the buildings and grounds. The incumbent will work with manager to schedule and plan his/her own work, prioritizing, projects, maintenance and facility grounds and buildings and provide excellent customer service.
PRIMARY RESPOSIBILITES
Primary responsibilities are the basic job duties that an employee must be able to perform. - Must live on-site and be available to staff, guests and the public including evenings, nights, and weekends.
- Perform regular patrol rounds and respond to emergent situations as needed.
- Maintain security by patrolling the site and/or monitoring security equipment.
- Control access to public areas; secure access to unattended areas; unlock buildings and/or gates before use and lock up after use.
- Monitor the use of the premises by visitors, guests, and other members of the public.
- Report incidents, such as vandalism to police and manager, as required.
- Perform general repair and maintenance duties such unblocking taps, repairing damaged paint and wood, fixing minor plumbing and electrical fittings, and weatherizing the property.
- Develop knowledge of buildings, location of shut-off valves, fuse boxes, thermostats, gas and water meters, furnace systems and hot water heaters.
- Clean walkways, porches and communal or public areas and maintain wooded walking paths and trim bushes as regularly scheduled and as needed.
- Maintain the grounds; pick up and remove litter; perform recycling duties.
- Perform landscaping and maintenance duties as needed or requested for specific activities and events.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must have ability to use and operate power tools and equipment, including tractor, backhoe, etc.
- Must have a strong commitment and interest in supporting and promoting the cultural heritage of the Nisqually Tribe.
This position does not supervise.
