JOB SUMMARY:
This position provides an opportunity for Nisqually Tribal members to gain the skills necessary for the position of Security Supervisor. Apprenticeship is under the supervision of the Security Department. A hands-on learning experience in protecting company assets and the safety of guests and team members. Training in response to emergency incidents involving safety hazards and handling emergency medical situations.
Requirements
Required skills and knowledge:
- Nisqually Tribal Member.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and provide a driver’s abstract that must not contain any disqualifying events per the NRWC Safe Driver Policy.
- Willingness to study toward and earn a GED or high school diploma.
- Interest and ability to learn knowledge of security and surveillance systems and safety procedures.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures, accept guidance, and correct actions.
- Ability to learn and use basic computer skills.
- Ability to follow through with tasks on time.
- Ability to learn communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Positive customer service and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and use sound judgment.
- Ability to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to obtain a Class III Gaming License.
Preferred skills and knowledge:
- 1 year of customer service experience. Six months of volunteer experience can be considered as part of this requirement.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to continuously sit, stand or move for at least 8 to 12-hour shifts.
- Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, squat, and lift up to 75 pounds.
- Manual and finger dexterity for operating a personal computer and routine paperwork.
- Ability to tolerate a smoke-filled environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
- Assists the Security staff by performing the essential functions of the Security Officer I, Security Dispatcher, Security Lead, and Security Shift Supervisor positions.
- Learn the operation of Security, including safeguarding company assets, observing and reporting incidents/procedure violations/criminal activities, verifying and transport large amounts of money throughout the casino, and creating a safe, friendly work environment for guests and team members.
- Completes various training programs, such as CPR, first aid, self-defense, and managing aggressive behavior.
- Supervises Security staff.
- Performs other duties as requested.
