Job Description:
As a Master Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for performing complex diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. You’ll work with a range of systems, including engines, transmissions, and electrical components, to ensure that all vehicles operate at peak performance. You will also mentor and train junior technicians, ensuring high standards of workmanship and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, drivetrains, and related systems.
- Perform routine maintenance on trucks, buses, and other heavy equipment.
- Use diagnostic tools and technical manuals to troubleshoot issues and determine the best course of action.
- Repair or replace faulty parts, such as fuel injectors, filters, and pumps.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs and services performed.
- Work with shop management to ensure efficient workflow and meet customer deadlines.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior technicians on complex repairs and procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Required:
- Proven experience as a Diesel Technician or Mechanic with a focus on heavy-duty trucks and equipment.
- Master Diesel Technician certification (or equivalent) required.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, fuel systems, and electrical systems.
- Ability to use diagnostic software and tools effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required).
- Preferred:
- ASE or OEM-specific certifications.
- 5 years of hands-on experience working with diesel engines and related systems.
