General Role Description

Provide support and supervision of test lab activities, research potential design problems with products in the field, develop training material related to new product introduction.

Role Accountabilities

  • Ensure client design issues with new products are resolved, including troubleshooting issues at the job site if necessary, documenting issues for escalation to development engineering
  • Recommend product upgrades and changes to promote safety and functionality
  • Develop commissioning checklists, coursework and safety procedures needed for successful deployment of new products
  • Train clients and internal personnel on system commissioning, system maintenance procedures, and system operation
  • Perform development testing activities as assigned to ensure work is accomplished productively and safely
  • Facilitate factory witness tests to ensure client expectations are met
  • Maintain lab equipment, including safety equipment, and instrumentation such that it is functional and in calibration
  • Maintain current safety qualifications appropriate to the assigned tasks
  • Adhere to both Company and client safety requirements as required
  • Ensure a safe and organized lab environment, recommending upgrades and training as needed
  • Ensure proper safety equipment is available and in good working condition, as assigned

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in science or engineering or equivalent via education and/or work experience
  • Demonstrated experience with electrical equipment and electrical safety
  • Demonstrated presentation skills
  • Demonstrated successful working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other internal and external contacts
  • Demonstrated successful and positive personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement in areas of responsibility
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Availability to travel, domestically and internationally, up to 30%, sometimes with limited notice
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments in high and low temperatures
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. periodically
  • Ability to work standing for long periods of time on hard surfaces

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 years of work experience in commissioning or customer support
  • Field experience with power electronics products
  • Demonstrated successful working relationships with a foreign parent or subsidiary companies
  • Demonstrated success coordinating work of others to achieve assigned goals
