Responsibilities
Create 3D Environments: Design and model highly detailed 3D environments, terrains, and assets, including landscapes, buildings, interiors, and props for various projects (games, films, VR/AR).
Texturing & Shading: Apply textures, shaders, and materials to 3D models to create realistic and visually appealing environments.
Optimization: : Ensure models are optimized for performance while maintaining visual quality, focusing on efficient polygon counts and textures.
Collaboration: Work closely with other 3D artists, designers, and developers to ensure that the environment models integrate seamlessly with other assets, such as characters and animations.
Maintain Consistency: Ensure consistency in style, design, and quality across all environment assets, adhering to the project’s visual style and technical requirements.
Lighting & Rendering: Set-up lighting in the environment and create renders for presentations and previews, ensuring the environments look good under different lighting conditions.
Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to 3D models and assets, including bugs, performance issues, and visual inconsistencies.
Stay Updated: Stay current with the latest trends, techniques, and tools in 3D modeling and environment design.
Candidate Profile
Proven experience as a 3D Environment Artist or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing environment assets.
Proficiency in 3D modelling software such as Autodesk Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, or similar.
Strong skills in texturing and shading using tools like Substance Painter, Mari, or Photoshop.
Experience with game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine, including knowledge of asset integration and optimization for real-time environments.
Strong understanding of lighting, rendering, and camera positioning techniques.
Experience with UV unwrapping, baking, and normal map creation.
Knowledge of performance optimization techniques (e.g., polygon reduction, level of detail, and texture atlases).
Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating visually stunning, immersive environments.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
