Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Support Technician to provide crucial support to our machine shop operations. This role involves maintaining and repairing machine shop equipment, fabricating spare parts, and ensuring efficient and safe operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including IATF, ISO, TISAX, ISMS, and safety regulations.
Serve as a member of the First Responder team according to the WVSM Manual.
Provide primary maintenance and repair support for all machine shop equipment.
Utilize machine shop equipment to rework and fabricate various spare parts for production needs.
Manage inventory control of both reworked and new spare parts.
Contribute to effective labor cost management and productivity.
Communicate promptly, accurately, and professionally with relevant personnel.
Assist in determining spare parts quantities and ordering schedules for new parts.
Support the inspection of incoming spare parts to verify usability and dimensional accuracy.
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on all machine shop equipment.
Operate various machine shop equipment to fabricate and complete assigned Kaizen projects.
Potentially operate a man lift according to established procedures and guidelines.
Perform all work in compliance with quality, environmental, and regulatory procedures.
Perform general housekeeping duties, including 5S implementation.
Promptly report any irregularities in incoming parts or increased part usage to management.
Undertake other duties as assigned by management.
Be available for overtime and potential shift changes as required.
Qualifications:
Required:
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in fabrication or machining.
Basic computer skills.
Strong problem identification and resolution skills.
Excellent troubleshooting abilities.
High mechanical aptitude.
Solid understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Excellent organizational, planning, and administrative skills.
Ability to multitask effectively.
Effective communication skills.
Ability to interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings.
Ability to work both indoors and outdoors.
Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
Ability to see and hear (with or without correctable aids).
Ability to communicate verbally.
May be required wear safety toe shoes.
Preferred:
Vocational/technical certificate in a related field.
Basic knowledge of electrical repair.
Experience with MS Office Suite.
Experience training others.
Demonstrated tact and diplomacy.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Adaptability to changing needs in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to cope effectively with stressful situations.
Effective time management skills.
Physical Requirements:
