Job Summary
We are a personal injury law firm seeking a detail-oriented and professional Legal Assistant/Receptionist to provide support in our Smyrna office. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for clients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative tasks. This role requires strong organizational skills, a keen understanding of legal terminology, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. The Legal Receptionist will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our office and supporting our legal staff.
Responsibilities
- Greet clients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
- Manage incoming calls with excellent phone etiquette, directing them to appropriate personnel, or taking messages as needed.
- Maintain an organized reception area and ensure it is welcoming for clients.
- Utilize document management systems to file, retrieve, and manage legal documents efficiently.
- Schedule appointments and manage calendars for attorneys and legal staff.
- Communicate with insurance adjusters regarding opening claims and claim information.
- Drafting letters or other legal documents.
- Communicate with medical providers regarding requests for medical records and medical bills.
- Conduct interviews with clients as necessary to gather relevant information for case preparation.
- Follow up with clients, medical providers, and adjusters regarding information or documents.
Experience
- Previous experience in a legal environment is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with document management systems is an asset.
- Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures.
- Professional phone etiquette and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Clerical and administrative skills to support legal operations.
