Position Overview: As a Restaurant Host with Scholar Hotels, you will be the first point of contact for our esteemed guests, setting the tone for their dining experience. You will manage reservations, greet and seat guests with grace and professionalism, and ensure smooth operations within the restaurant. Your role is crucial in creating a welcoming atmosphere and delivering exceptional service that aligns with our luxury standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guest Reception: Warmly greet and welcome guests upon arrival, providing a positive first impression. Escort guests to their tables while ensuring a smooth and pleasant experience.

  • Reservations Management: Handle reservation inquiries, confirmations, and modifications with precision. Maintain an organized reservation system and manage the dining room flow effectively.

  • Seating Coordination: Efficiently manage seating arrangements to optimize table turnover while ensuring guests are seated according to their preferences and special requests.

  • Customer Service: Address guest inquiries, special requests, and concerns with professionalism and courtesy. Provide information about the menu, dining specials, and restaurant policies as needed.

  • Communication: Liaise with the restaurant staff to ensure that guest seating preferences and special requirements are communicated and accommodated.

  • Waitlist Management: Manage and prioritize waitlists, providing accurate wait times and keeping guests informed. Ensure a smooth transition from waitlist to seating.

  • Ambiance Management: Maintain the restaurant?s ambiance by ensuring that the dining area is clean, well-organized, and set up according to the restaurant?s standards.

  • Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any issues or complaints promptly, ensuring a satisfactory resolution that maintains the restaurant?s reputation for excellence.

  • Administrative Duties: Assist with administrative tasks such as managing the reservation system, updating guest information, and preparing shift reports.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous experience as a host or in a customer-facing role within a luxury or upscale dining environment is preferred.

  • Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a strong focus on customer service and hospitality.

  • Appearance: Professional appearance and demeanor that reflects the upscale nature of our restaurant and hotel.

  • Organizational Abilities: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Flexibility: Ability to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed to meet the restaurant?s operational requirements.
