Sr. Laboratory Technician, QA/QC

POSITION SUMMARY
Performs a variety of initial and final testing procedures to evaluate material and product quality levels. Trains technicians on testing procedures, documentation, and general quality laboratory practices.
Primary Duties
Primary responsibilities include the evaluation of raw or incoming materials and the quality control testing of finished products such as polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies and human serum proteins. The position involves substantial laboratory bench work, the operation of specialized laboratory equipment and the collection and evaluation of data from automated clinical analyzers, spectrophotometers, and analytical gel assays [immune-electrophoresis, zone electrophoresis, P.A.G.E.]. All evaluation results are documented as quality records.
Other duties include the calibration and maintenance of laboratory measurement equipment, the preparation of buffers for QC testing, and the analysis and inventory of reference materials and reagents. The accurate completion of quality records and the revision of quality procedures is also required.
The qualified candidate is expected to follow established company procedures and maintain product identity and traceability. Strict adherence to workplace safety and OSHA regulations is also required.

Position Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in a science discipline or a combination of education, training and experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above duties is required.
- Intermediate-level computer skills in word-processing, spreadsheets and databases are required.
- The position requires good analytical skills and the ability to interpret data and evaluate results.
- Candidates must be adaptable to multiple working environments including walk-in refrigerators and freezers, extended periods standing at work benches, following OSHA and company safety guidelines, and the ability to lift and move more than 25 lbs. Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable those with disabilities to perform the essential job functions.
- The position requires a substantial amount of written documentation and communication skills. Therefore, concise business writing skills and constructive interpersonal engagement skills are imperative to job success.
- Direct, hands-on experience with the USDA, GMP, or ISO 9001:2015 Quality Systems is preferred.
