\n- Reporting to our Global Head of Product & Regulatory Legal, you’ll be lead counsel for driving our legal and regulatory strategy across North and South America (in particular, US, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, among others).
- You’ll lead our efforts to obtain US MTLs and a Brazil EMI license, both of which are key company priorities.
- You’ll partner closely with our global product, engineering and business teams to advise on a range of issues including product development, financial services regulations, payments, consumer protection, market expansion, data privacy and intellectual property.
- You’ll be an ambassador to the business for Nium’s Global Legal Team and help us stay up-to-date on applicable laws and regulations dealing with financial services.
- You’ll be a leader on Nium’s Global Legal Team and will work collaboratively to support Nium’s legal and regulatory structure, strategic partnerships, and client agreements.
- You’ll help build scalable and effective processes for legal review and launch of new products and services.
- You have at least 6 years of experience as a qualified lawyer in an in-house legal team, top law firm and/or government agency.
- You have deep familiarity with payments, fintech, or financial services laws and regulations, and have demonstrated experience in obtaining US MTLs.
- You’re a natural leader who has previously managed others (either lawyers or non-lawyers).
- You’re highly collaborative, are inquisitive and solutions-oriented, and have prior experience advising on product development at fast-moving technology companies.
- You’re biased towards action and impact, and no task is too big or too small for you; you can roll up your sleeves and get things done.
- You have exceptional verbal and interpersonal communication skills, can build strong relationships with business colleagues, and can simplify legal concepts and communicate them in easy-to-understand language.

Salary : $200,000 - $290,000
