About the Job :
Title of the Position : Electrician Journeyman
We are looking for a highly skilled Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical system, as well as instrumentation and control systems. At Nivagen as an Electrician Journeyman you will be responsible for to install, alter, maintain and repair emergency power systems, electrical systems, UPS systems and electrical equipment, fixtures, tools, and appliances.
Responsibilities :
- Installs, alters, maintains and repairs emergency power systems, electrical systems, UPS systems and a wide variety of electrical equipment, fixtures, tools and appliances. Electrical systems include single and three phase with 120, 208, 277 and 480 volts, signal circuits, control circuits, and low voltage systems
- Diagnoses problems, malfunctions, or design alterations to emergency power systems, electrical systems or electrical equipment, fixtures, tools and appliances
- Follows work schedules and reads and interprets directions, blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, and manufacturer manuals to complete assigned projects in effective, efficient manner
- Reviews documentation and blueprints of external contractors, architects and engineers to assist with contract development
- Inspects work of external contractors for quality and adherence of specifications
- Plans installation, alteration and repair projects ensuring adherence to safety rules and regulations
- Provides technical guidance to employees in other trade areas
- Performs other related duties as assigned or appropriate
- Perform, guide or direct, with fellow colleagues and / or with contractors, all predictive, preventive and responsive maintenance on all plant electrical devices, including but not limited to the following :
- Motor Control Centers (MCC)
- Electrical Mains Generator Panels and Generators Electric Motors (amperage readings during operations) Backup Diesel Generator
- All Factory Lighting
- Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)-programming and troubleshooting
- Automatic Transfer Switches and Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)
- Local Disconnects Motors and Motor / Gearboxes (troubleshoot and replace bearings).
- Knowledge and understanding, troubleshooting digital and analogue devices including but not limited to RTD s, Level / Pressure Transmitters, valve positioners to and from PLC I / O points
- Provide electrical connectivity to all new equipment
- Proactively drive capital projects from the electrical perspective
- Assemble and install all conduit, outlets, panels, junction boxes and perform all necessary wiring and to direct construction and repair of electronic motors
- Perform or direct others in performing all tasks of an electrical nature necessary to test, calibrate, repair, rebuild, maintain, modify or install electrical equipment
- Take on functional area operating responsibilities during the tomato processing season
