PRIMARY TASKS & MAJOR ACTIVITIES
Provide instruction appropriate for students identified as English Language Learners (ELL). Work collaboratively with the coordinator of ELL district program. Provide assistance to parents of ELL students in relation to school activities and to classroom teachers where student(s) is / are assigned. Administer or assist in administration of local language ability / comprehension assessments and required State assessments, and interpret and plan instructional needs based upon results. Represent the District at State / District functions related to the ELL population. Provide instruction in the classroom, small group, and / or individual student settings. Identify (through assessment and enrollment process) eligible students. Schedule students for services. Work collaboratively as part of a Professional Learning Community. Maintain accurate count of District students actively receiving ELL services.
EDUCATIONAL / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
K-12 Missouri certification - ELL teacher certification required. Organize, plan, and implement an ELL program. Effectively schedule services for the ELL population. Prior experience working with ELL program / student is a plus. Knowledge of State ELL requirements. Seek any available funding to assist theSchool District with the provision of services for the ELL population. A strong knowledge of Missouri Assessment Program (MAP), End of Course Exams (EOC) and effective instructional strategies. Willingness to collaborate with peers. Willingness to understand and support the District's Comprehensive School Improvement Plan. Must successfully pass a background check and drug test that are satisfactory to the Board of Education.
