Description : Position Summary :
The Continuous Improvement Manager is primarily responsible for problem solving and building problem solving capability with all associates in their area of responsibility. Other areas of responsibility include the training and implementation of lean tools including 5S, standard work, visual workplace, process mapping, etc. The CI Manager will achieve annual documented savings target. Train, support, and challenge all associates within given area of responsibility to identify, document, solve, and control problems that impact safety, quality, productivity, associate engagement, etc.; all of which is needed to make a measurable impact on the business.
Essential Functions :
- Support managers and ensure all required PMO projects are complete.
- Maintain a working project list to include unopened, opened, complete, and validated.
- Serve as project owner for eight improvement projects or kaizen events per year.
- Confirm that projects are being sustained post completion and post validation.
- Support all associates to ensure that every associate documents one improvement per month.
- Recognize associates for making impactful changes and changes consistent with the documented improvement standard.
- Work with the plant management team to automate, eliminate friction, and improve throughput as measured by pieces per associate hour (PPAH).
- Improve visual workplace centered around achieving targeted PPAH goals, e.g., hour by hour boards, visual control plans, metric boards, etc.
- Deliver and coordinate problem solving, 5S, process mapping, and other training as required to achieve objectives.
- Conduct CI assessments on a quarterly basis, identify needed actions to improve the assessment score, and work with the team to complete the needed actions.
