In accordance with applicable Federal and State laws, the anticipated annual salary range for this position, depending on location, is as follows:
Rochester, NY: $134,080 to $199,167
Chicago, IL: $154,192 to $229,042
In addition to a standard benefits package, this role may be eligible for additional contingent compensation based on an array of factors, including but not limited to: work performance, geographic location, work experience, education, and qualifications. Because such contingent compensation is not yet calculable or may be zero ($0) in some circumstances, the above-listed salary range is Nixon Peabody’s good faith estimate of the annual salary it reasonably expects to pay for the position at the time of this posting.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Direct the People Operations team responsible for the management of the HRIS and other tools, data governance and maintenance, reporting, analytics, compensation and performance management.
- Direct staff compensation strategy in collaboration with CHRO, COO and CFO, recommending improvements to maintain the firm’s competitive positioning. Oversee annual processes, pay equity, and pay transparency.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to maximize investments in HR technology, drive efficiencies, and create a best-in-class People Operations platform.
- Direct HR technology strategy, working cross-functionally with technical and non-technical resources in order to achieve desired business objectives.
- Oversee the implementation of people analytics dashboards and other data visualizations, including collection and coordination of aggregate data for talent pool; translate those data into insights and identification of organizational trends that drive deliberate action plans and help firm leadership make strategic decisions.
- Provide professional expertise and support and collaborate with key stakeholders in the design, development and implementation of talent review processes required to achieve business goals and resulting in the creation of an internal bench of top talent.
- Direct strategy for first class performance management program for staff to support firm’s strategic priority to develop and retain top talent.
- Operationalize and collaborate with relevant responsible teams on staff development through high-potential talent and skill gap assessments.
- Develop, maintain and/or collaborate on effective programs for workforce retention, promotion and succession planning.
- Develop and manage budget for People Operations and coordinate budget process for all HR, ensuring effective management of resources aligned with department and firm goals.
- Develop strategies and processes to ensure compliance with local, state and federal laws, in close collaboration with Regional HR.
- Responsible for leading affirmative action planning in close coordination with HR stakeholders.
- Support development and maintenance of broader HR policies and processes.
- Maintain current knowledge of employment law and key HR developments, trends and best practices; communicate with and educate relevant populations accordingly.
- Manage assigned vendor relationships.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 8-10 years of progressive leadership experience in HRIS, data analytics, compensation, and performance management. Cloud/SAAS implementation and maintenance a plus. Certifications in HR and/or compensation management preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. Experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
- Advanced knowledge of HR systems including data governance, security management, and workflows.
- Working knowledge of data visualization tools (i.e., Power BI).
- Strong analytical and data visualization skills.
- Experience with change management and process improvement.
- Strong working relationships with other HR sub-functions to optimize opportunity for collaboration.
- Proven experience planning and prioritizing multiple cross-functional projects.
- Solid understanding of HR processes and cross-functional dependences, including Payroll, Benefits, and Recruiting.
- Excellent collaboration, written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong decision-making skills and ability to use professional judgment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in performing work duties.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
