Scope of Eligibility
Open to permanent employees who work for the Fish and Wildlife Program and meet the requirements below.
Description
Under the general supervision of a supervisory officer in the Fish and Wildlife Program, supervises a group of workers engaged in performing various duties involved in fish and game propagation, growth and health maintenance, resource inventories, fish and game distribution, user surveys, habitat management and performs routine maintenance of buildings, equipment and grounds. Supervises staff and work activities. Prepares and signs official performance evaluations for subordinate staff; does other related work as required.
Specific to Position
Coordinates and supervises the work activities of workers in a Wildlife management area game farm and/or fish hatchery operation; and has responsibility for the daily and seasonal operational and maintenance activities of an assigned area. Possession of a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is required.
Requirements
EXPERIENCE:
Three (3) years of comprehensive experience in wildlife or fisheries management activities including habitat developments, maintenance, propagation and/or conservation.
SPECIAL NOTE
Appointees may be required to wear a half-face respirator and complete an annual training course in respiratory protection.
License
Appointees will be required to possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and applicable endorsements for the class and type of vehicle being operated.
Appointees may be required to obtain a valid New Jersey boat operator’s license.
