Job Description
This role is responsible for assisting in the operation and maintenance of various types of boats assigned to the unit. Under direction of a supervisor, you will perform related work as required.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn and assist in the marking and maintenance of coastal waters, inland waterways, and lakes. You will also be responsible for making minor repairs and adjustments to flashing beacons, performing maintenance work on channel marking equipment and materials, and making minor repairs to gasoline and diesel engines on state-owned boats.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the operation and maintenance of boats
- Making minor repairs and adjustments to flashing beacons
- Performing maintenance work on channel marking equipment and materials
- Making minor repairs to gasoline and diesel engines
- Cleaning and maintaining boat and motor systems
Requirements:
- Ability to learn and assist in the marking and maintenance of coastal waters, inland waterways, and lakes
- Ability to properly use and store boats and related materials and equipment
- Ability to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency
- Valid driver's license (if necessary)
