What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ophthalmic Technician position at NJ Eye and Ear, LLC?
High volume, multi-physician practice seeking an experienced, passionate and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician.
We are a patient focused, learning-oriented company with multiple locations working as one. Simply put, we are looking for a star to join our team!
Duties include but are not limited to:
* Give direct patient care including but not limited to: patient history, visual acuity, auto refraction, BAT, automated visual fields, corneal topography,specular microscopy, OCT, tear testing, manifest refraction, fundus photography, scribing, A-scan. Measurements and tests to provide physicians data and assist in patient care.
* Gathering comprehensive patient history documentation.
* Ensuring efficient patient flow to and between exam rooms.
* Administering drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes according to doctor instructions/expectations.
* Maintaining stock of supplies and medications.
* Providing support in testing rooms when not assigned to a doctor.
* Reviewing and dispensing applicable educational handouts to patients.
* Adhere closely to monthly schedule providing reliable support to the department.
* Provide physicians with additional projects and tasks as as needed.
Qualifications:
* Minimum two years of ophthalmic technician experience required
* Willing to work on evenings/Saturdays
* Must be a team player with focus on excellent patient care
While experience is highly valued, candidates with a COA and/or COT certification are given special consideration!
