NJ/NY Gotham FC (“Gotham FC” or “the Club”) is a National Women’s Soccer League (“NWSL”) team representing New Jersey and New York. The team plays at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, NJ.
The Role
Gotham FC is seeking bilingual candidates for the Player Care Manager role. The Player Care Manager will play a pivotal role in Gotham FC’s Operations Department by being a key contact for all First Team players, staff, and their families. This individual will provide operational support for players and staff, ensuring a seamless transition into the Gotham FC family, throughout their time at the Club, and during off-boarding. The role requires a solid understanding of all aspects of on and off-field requirements, to ensure that all aspects of player care are managed effectively, promoting everyone's health, performance and welfare. There will be a strong focus on facilitating day-to-day administration related to player care, acting as a bridge between the players, soccer and business staff, and the wider Club.
Key Responsibilities
This position is fully in-person, based at Gotham FC’s soccer operations office and practice facility, located in Whippany, New Jersey. Ability to attend all home games and any mandatory events as well as away games, as necessary. A willingness to travel for other business-related needs, as they arise. Ability to work at the team’s business operations office in Jersey City, New Jersey, as needed. Gotham FC requires its associates to live in its market, that is, within reasonable commuting distance of Gotham FC’s offices, practice facility and Red Bull Arena.

Key Responsibilities
- Player and Staff Liaison: Serve as the main point of contact for all First Team players and staff for off-field matters, including housing, transportation, personal needs, and non-soccer activities. Act as a trusted resource for player families and partners, assisting with relocation and transition into the area.
- Mental Skills & Programs: Assist with programs to support players off-pitch, focusing on creating world-class athletes AND world-class members of our community.
- Relocation & Logistics Management: Coordinate and manage the logistics for relocating First Team players and staff into New Jersey and ensuring they have a smooth experience during their time in-market. Provide support for international players with specific requirements such as social security numbers, banking, and visa status.
- Travel Support: Assist the Director of Operations in planning and executing individual travel logistics, including air and ground transportation, hotel arrangements, and family travel. On game days, provide operational support to players and staff, including coordinating family credentials, suite access, and other needs.
- Family & Partner Support: Develop programs to assist players and their families with transitioning to the region, including finding housing, local services, and day-to-day needs. Be a consistent point of contact for families, ensuring a positive off-field experience.
- Event Coordination: Plan and execute social events for players, staff, and families, fostering a strong sense of community within the club. Coordinate promotional, commercial, and media appearances for players and staff.
- Operational Excellence: Support the Operations Department with training logistics, game day operations, other club initiatives and other duties as assigned. Assist in activating player benefits and perks provided by the club and its partners.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred).
- Experience working within professional sport (required), within women’s sports and/or soccer (preferred).
- Passion for Women’s Soccer.
- Between 2 and 5 years of experience managing a variety of tasks in a customer or client-facing role. Experience in sports or entertainment operations is a plus.
- A sound understanding of athlete care and development at the elite level.
- Knowledge of the New York and New Jersey areas.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) required; Portuguese, French, German proficiency is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to work under pressure, managing multiple tasks and competing priorities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work across departments and with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating a self-starter attitude.
